REVIEW OF BEC'S – RELENTLESS EP: BIG SHOT MAGAZINE NEW YORK

UK native BEC’s Relentless EP on Pan-Pots Second State Audio is a techno twofer of the highest quality. The title track has punchy kicks and percussive rhythms interwoven with eerily melodic infusions and layered atop an astral ambience that is ready to rocket your ears to a higher state of consciousness. The equally impressive “Nascent” (listen to our exclusive track premiere here) is the perfect partner, the gritty tech crunch here contrasting the lush ride on the flipside. The aggressive bite and energy all but promise a packed dance floor. This is the perfect debut project from BEC. I’m looking forward to seeing where she takes us next.

BEATS MEETS BEC: BEATS EVERYTHING

WHEN DECIDING WHO TO INCLUDE IN OUR BEATS MEETS SERIES, WE PUT A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT INTO MAKING SURE THE ARTISTS WE INTERVIEW ARE EXCITING, RELEVANT AND TALENTED. OBVIOUSLY WE LOVE INTERVIEWING THE BIG NAMES LIKE MARCO CAROLA AND RALPH LAWSON PERVIOUSLY, BUT WE ALSO LIKE TO GET TO KNOW THE ARTISTS THAT ARE JUST CUTTING THEIR TEETH IN THIS INDUSTRY AND STARTING TO MAKE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES, MUCH LIKE THE INTERVIEW WE DID WITH RHYMOS.

THIS ARTIST FALLS INTO THE LATTER CATEGORY, AS WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF CATCHING UP WITH BEC JUST AFTER HER AMAZING SET AT LWE'S PAN POT- SECOND STATE NIGHT AT ICAN STUDIOS.

A DIGITAL DESIGNER BY DAY AND A REFRESHINGLY HUMBLE DJ BY NIGHT, YOU WILL FIND THAT HER HEADPHONES ARE NEVER FAR FROM HER SIDE SUPPLYING HER WITH INSPIRATION AND TECHNO BEATS. HER SET FROM THE LWE NIGHT WAS MASTERFULLY CRAFTED AND PUT TOGETHER THAT HAD A MUTURITY TO IT BEYOND HER YEARS.

I THINK WE ARE STARTING TO SEE THE BEGINNING OF A VERY BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD AND 2015 MIGHT JUST BE THE BREAK OUT YEAR OF A VERY SUCCESSFUL AND EXCITING CAREER. ITS FAR TO EARLY TO START COMPARING HER TO THE CURRENT QUEENS OF TECHNO LIKE MAGDA, NICOLE MOUDABER ET AL. BUT WITH THE NETWORK AROUND HER THAT SHE HAS AND THE TALENT AND HARD WORK SHE PUTS IN, IT WON'T BE LONG BEFORE SHE IS ON THAT PATH.
